I’ve has been held at gunpoint by the Rio police, fought for my life against a hammer-wielding psycho and lost more full contact judo fights to Marines and Special Forces servicemen than I can count.

As a book reviewer, I specialize in “Heroic Thrillers.” The gritty books where a woman, a man or a team overcomes ridiculous obstacles and ultimately beat the bad guys into a small puddle of quivering goo.

Before beginning the Revenge School series, I did my homework. I’ve read over 5,000 thrillers and am determined to read another 5,000. For almost fifteen years, my column, “Grit-Lit,” appeared in major newspapers and websites including The San Jose Mercury, Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times and affiliates.

Now I write novels that I want to read. Or see at the movie theater while sharing a small popcorn with my wife.

If you are wishing for a 21st century version of the 3 Musketeers, you will love Revenge School. But I gotta tell you, in this version, modernized and updated, the musketeers aren’t all men. Revenge School women are fierce.
